Speaking and Facilitation

Conversations about identity, well-being, and the courage to be understood.

I speak and facilitate conversations for people who want more than information delivered at them. My approach invites audiences to question what they have been taught about identity and well-being while making room for lived experience. I do not enter a room assuming I have every answer; I enter prepared to guide a conversation people can genuinely participate in. I pay attention to the emotional temperature of the room and adjust without losing sight of the purpose. Difficult subjects deserve language that is clear without becoming cold or clinical. My goal is to make meaningful dialogue feel possible, even when the subject is uncomfortable.

As a queer, neurodivergent Mexican American woman, I understand how easily people can be discussed without being understood. My work with LGBTQIA+ youth has taught me how to approach sensitive subjects without shame or forced vulnerability. Whether I am presenting to a group or facilitating an open discussion, I want people to leave with language for what they have felt and greater confidence in their own perspective. I draw from personal experience when it can create understanding, but I never treat vulnerability as a performance. I respect that participation can look different for each person in the room. The strongest conversation is not always the loudest one; sometimes its impact becomes clear in what someone finally feels able to name.

For Lesbian Visibility Day, I gave a presentation exploring the complexity of lesbian identity and the many ways it can be expressed. I spoke about sexuality alongside gender expression, challenging stereotypes that suggest there is one correct way to look or live as a lesbian. By sharing my own experience with fluid self-expression, I invited the audience to question narrow assumptions about queerness. The presentation centered visibility as the freedom to be recognized without having to simplify yourself first.

Mind Matters:
Taking Care of You

I shared my lived experience of battling bipolar II and Borderline Personality Disorder. I conducted and facilitated an open discussion on self-care along with mental and emotional wellness. At the end of the workshop, I shared resources for youth in need of assistance with mental health matters.
